This is a very sad video but it explains why so many dogs end up in rescue. I am glad that I have owners who really care about me and they have friends who do a lot to help dogs like this. I hope you will do what you can also.

This is a close up of the cake...ground turkey, spinach, brown rice, carrots and eggs with pumpkin filling and mashed potatoe decoration...what more could a girl wish for.....

Oh, did I mention that I also got a birthday gift?  My very own mini van in scarlet red!  I am a big girl now and big girls get big presents and this one is mine...all mine.  Mary and Sylvia are locked in the back in a crate...  :)  I am in charge now!

I am Woman hear me Roar!

Okay...so I came into season a couple of days ago...And instead of a hat...they slapped a pair of the "bitches britches" on me!  I think I am liking a hat a whole lot more....

From this angle...you see my more sophisticated look.  I just had a bath and Mary used the new K9 III blower to dry me off....nearly blew my hair right out of my skin!  That is one powerful blower...but it did leave me with a beautiful fluffy coat.  I have to say, it was nice to get dry in half of the time it used to take.  Oh...and this pic below...well it is the look I have perfected that gets me a liver treat every time...What do you think?

Happy Birthday early!

We had a chance to celebrate my birthday...yes, I turn 1 year old on February 19th!  Well...a girl has to have as many parties as she can when she is younger so that when she really doesn't want to tell her age, she won't feel like she missed out on any fun!  So, here is a pic of me and Sylvia.  I know...it's another hat picture.  But check this out...

I learned of some depressing news yesterday after the show...

Yesterday, after coming off a really big high from winning my class at Fitchburg...we went to an open house for Rescue sponsored by the New England Newfoundland Club.  Up until that point, the only "rescue" I knew about was saving people who fell overboard in the lake.  You might know from other posts that I just love the water.  So when Mary and Sylvia told me where we were headed, I was more than willing to put off my nap and the celebration for my big win, until after some water fun.  Only problem is...that is not what this rescue was about at all.  No, it was an event around Newfies who don't have a permanent home!  I couldn't imagine anything like that at all.  How could that be?  Newfies without love and affection from a dedicated owner?  I could only hope to wake up and find out it wasn't so...but it IS so!  And it is very sad.  It seems sometimes people just get a Newf without really knowing just how loveable we can be...sharing our Newfie drool and leaving visiable trails of long black hair coating just about everything you can imagine...valuable or not, we decorate for improved value!  Owning a Newf is a lot of responsibility and it seems not everyone is as informed about this as Mary and Sylvia and my other friends...This is why there are dogs out there who need our help.  My friend, Monica, is doing her part.  She makes drool bibs and sells them to raise money for rescue.  I hope you will try and do your part too!  I can't have relatives out there without a home.  Here is the link if you are interested:  New England Newfound Rescue

A win in Class at Fitchburg!

Well, today was a great day.  I finally beat somebody out for first place in my class!  Now, I don't want you to think that it is all about winning...but winning sometimes CAN feel pretty sweet!  I had a blast and I think Mary did, too!  There were lots of our Newfie friends there to cheer all of us on and that made it very special.  But this can be very exhausting...I think I will take a long nap...until tomorrow, when we do it all again.  I do love being the center of attention now and then....
